Spring Planting Haul at the Covered Bridge

Spring planting out at the covered bridge located inside the Lake County fairgrounds in Crown Point Indiana. The Bridge Committee worked diligently through the winter to design these planting beds and decide what needed to be relocated and clean the area up. Most of the plants you see here were purchased with funds from our fundraising projects. Some were grown from seeds from members gardens as well. A big thank you to the following members who worked so hard from 8:30 until about 2 pm. it doesn't feel like work with so many wonderful worker bee's! Cyndi P. Mariann  Christine G. Carol C. Carol D. Kids Impromptu Planting at the Covered Bridge

In the Fall of 2020, member of the Covered Bridge Committee had some interested children stop by to watch us plant daffodil and tulip bulbs. Asking us questions, and very interested in the auger we used. Before we knew it, we were surrounded by smiling faces who were happy tp pitch in! and happy Mom's enjoying taking pictures of their kids learning about gardening. The interest level ranged from "that's gross!" when looking at the root portion of a bulb, to "wow" when the drill auger was used to plant the hole. It was a very memorable day, which these women will never forget!
