New Shrubs & Flowers at The Covered Bridge
May 24, 2020
Giving the Covered bridge a beautiful update of new shrubs, some old shrubs newly fertilized, pruned and relocated. Plus some gorgeous new annuals.
The existing lilac and Annabelle hydrangea got some new partners. In front is Rockin Blue Suede Shoes Salvia and in the back is brand new Quick Fire Hydrangea.
The lower shady garden bed had some new additions of more Hakanchloe and Heucherella.
This lower bed shown below got revamped as well. More balance and symmetry was used with the Penstemon and Sedums. The Bird bath was brought out of winter hiding.
New Butterfly bushes are flanking this bed now with the gorgeous new silver Helichrysum.
To hide the guard rail, red cannas were planted in empty spaces until the hydrangeas fill in. Red cannas will line and pink ones were brought front and center. Come July this will be quite a show of color!
Thanks to a donation from Carol & Fred Curiel and Christine Graves and Greg Crouch, the metal artwork is some necessary metal structure to add height.
Foxgloves, dahlias, pink vista supertunias, pentas, daylillies and peace lillies fill the lower bed.
Hurry up July!
